Russia: Tver inspectors test potato lots for golden nematode before storage
Soil and tuber samples are being checked for cysts as the region's main root crop goes into winter storage.
RosselkhoznaDZOR inspectors in Russia’s Tver region are testing potatoes being laid into storage, with soil samples checked primarily for cysts of golden potato cyst nematode, regional media reported on 27 September 2026.
The checks are part of routine quarantine supervision during the harvest and storage season. Detection of a quarantine object triggers the establishment of a quarantine zone and restrictions on movement of produce.
