Russia: three golden nematode quarantine zones lifted in Khakassia

Rosselkhoznadzor abolished the zones in the Altai district following successful eradication measures.

Three quarantine phytosanitary zones for golden potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) have been abolished in the Altai district of Russia’s Republic of Khakassia, Rosselkhoznadzor reported on 30 September 2026.

The lifting of the zones indicates that eradication and containment measures in the affected fields were completed to the regulator’s satisfaction, restoring normal movement and sale of potatoes from the area.

Golden nematode remains one of the most consequential quarantine pests for Russian potato production, with active zones in several regions.
