Finally Foods, an Israeli molecular farming startup growing dairy proteins inside potatoes, has closed a pre-seed funding round, bringing its total raised to $2.6 million. The investment was led by the Central Bottling Company (CBC Group) — the national distributor for Coca-Cola — with participation from I-Lab Angels and other private backers. The company is now targeting a larger seed round of $4-6 million in the coming months to scale operations, maximize its existing commercial agreement, and expand activities in the United States. Alongside the funding, the startup has added new board members and strategic advisors, including the president of MCT Dairies and a former managing director of VegInvest.
Finally Foods has achieved a molecular farming breakthrough by expressing all four casein sub-units — the key proteins that give cheese its melt and stretch — within a single potato cell, a feat it claims no fermentation-based company has accomplished. The startup uses GeneRator AI technology licensed from Evogene and has chosen potatoes for their high yields and efficient protein extraction. With three field trials completed or underway, Finally Foods already has a commercial agreement with CBC Group and is in confidential discussions with global dairy companies. The company plans to begin US regulatory filings with the USDA and FDA in 2027 and has joined the Animal Protein Crop Stewardship program to help establish stewardship standards for the molecular farming industry.
