We would like to inform you about new opportunities for the purchase of mineral fertilizers in organized (exchange) trading. Mineral fertilizers are traded on the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange (JSC SPIMEX), Russia’s largest commodity exchange.
All major producers of mineral fertilizers take part in the exchange trading on SPIMEX: PhosAgro Group (JSC Apatit, LLC PhosAgro-Region), JSC MCC EuroChem (LLC EuroChem Trading Rus), JSC UCC URALCHEM ”(LLC TD“ URALCHEM ”), PJSC“ Akron ”, PJSC“ Dorogobuzh ”, PJSC“ KuibyshevAzot ”, KJSC“ Azot ”, LLC“ Gazprom neftekhim Salavat ”.
The development of exchange trading is carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives set by the National Plan for the Development of Competition, approved by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December от 27.12.2017 г. №618.
In February 2020, the Joint Order of the FAS Russia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia entered into force, which, in accordance with Article 6 of the Law “On Protection of Competition” No. 135-FZ of July 26.07.2006, 10, sets the minimum volume of exchange sales of mineral fertilizers for the largest companies at the level of 10% of the volume of supplies to the domestic market by months, taking into account the seasonality.
As a result of the measures taken to develop exchange trading, 2020 became a record year in terms of growth in the exchange market for mineral fertilizers. In the first seven months of 2020, 76 tons of mineral fertilizers were sold at the exchange trading, which is 882 times higher than the indicators of the whole of 7 (2019 tons). Ammophos was in the greatest demand among buyers, sales of which amounted to 10 tons. Also sold were NPK 894:46:549 with a volume of 10 tons, ammonium nitrate with a volume of 26 tons, grade B carbamide with a volume of 26 tons, NPK 16:415:9 with a volume of 277 tons and NP + S = 2: 343 + 15 with a volume 15 tons.
The number of regions on the basis of delivery of which goods are sold from manufacturers ‘bases is expanding – in 2020, for the first time, mineral fertilizers were sold from manufacturers’ bases located in Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kirov, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Penza, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Tambov regions, Primorsky and Stavropol territories, as well as in the Republics of Bashkortostan, Mordovia and Tatarstan.
In total, over 100 delivery bases located in 32 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are currently registered on the exchange.
The advantages of exchange trading include: equal access of participants to exchange trading, market pricing, high liquidity and constant availability of goods, standardized and transparent conditions for the conclusion and execution of contracts, a guarantee of fulfillment of obligations under an exchange contract.
