In February, Russia imported Chinese potatoes worth the highest amount recorded since August of the previous year. China increased shipments of the vegetable to Russia for the fourth consecutive month, with monthly volumes rising by another 1.5% to reach $1.97 million. This steady growth underscores sustained demand from the Russian market during the late winter period.
By the end of winter, Russia ranked as the second-largest buyer of Chinese potatoes, trailing only Kyrgyzstan, which imported $2.6 million worth. Malaysia secured the third position with imports totaling $1.6 million. The continued increase in imports from China highlights the strengthening agricultural trade ties between the two countries.
