The Akimat of the Pavlodar Region has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Chinese company Snow Valley Agricultural Group Co. Ltd. to implement a large-scale investment project aimed at creating a modern deep potato processing complex with an annual capacity of 100,000 to 200,000 tons. According to the regional akimat’s press service, the project also includes the construction of a breeding and research center for potato growing and seed production, as well as an enterprise producing french fries and products from rotational crops. Additionally, the development of warehousing, logistics, and distribution infrastructure is planned. The total investment is estimated at $100-200 million.
The akimat noted that the project will help establish a full-fledged production and distribution chain in the region, reduce the deficit in deep processing capacities for agricultural products, and create new jobs in breeding, cultivation, processing, and support services. Snow Valley Agricultural Group Co. Ltd. is one of Asia’s largest agro-industrial holdings, specializing in the full-cycle production of potatoes — from breeding and growing to deep processing, including the production of french fries using shock freezing technology. Founded in 2007 in Zhangjiakou (China), the company processes over 800,000 tons of raw materials annually, has developed more than 80 potato varieties, and exports its products to more than 40 countries worldwide.
