The Ivanovo Region has opened the application process for subsidies aimed at local producers of potatoes and open-ground vegetables, with the deadline set for March 23rd. The Department of Agriculture is accepting applications through the state support portal, distributing a total fund of 6.9 million rubles—an increase from previous years—to approximately 15 farming enterprises. These funds are designed to help cover the costs of essential inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, fuel, and the maintenance of agricultural machinery, providing critical financial support ahead of the planting season.
According to Sergei Bubnov, head of the regional Department of Agriculture, this assistance is part of a federal project dedicated to the development of vegetable and potato farming. However, new conditions introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture starting in 2026 require recipients to have their land registered in the state database of agricultural land and to be free of federal debts related to land reclamation. The subsidy rates are set at 150 rubles per ton of potatoes and 250 rubles per ton of vegetables, with additional payments for agrotechnical work. Notably, producers using seeds of Russian origin will receive double the standard rate. This support comes on the heels of a successful 2024 harvest, during which the region collected 22,000 tons of potatoes (a 26% increase) and 12,000 tons of open-ground vegetables, including cabbage, carrots, and beets.
