Historically, potatoes remain one of the main agricultural crops in Kyrgyzstan, ensuring not only the country’s food security but also offering significant export potential. However, modern realities dictate new rules: climate change, the emergence of new plant diseases, and the growing demands of sales markets require farmers to adopt advanced approaches.
The answer to these challenges will be the “Field Day for Kyrgyzstan Potato Growers 2026”, which will take place on August 6, 2026, in the Issyk-Kul region (Kyzyl-Suu village). This year’s theme is: “Modern Varieties, Technologies, and Sales Markets: Enhancing the Competitiveness of Kyrgyzstan’s Potatoes”.
The event is organized by the Agricultural Cooperative “AgroWay Plus”, LLC “AgroWay”, and the “Potato KR” Cluster Association with state support.
What awaits the participants?
At the experimental field of “AgroWay Plus”, farmers will be shown the results of trials of 11 modern potato varieties from the leading Dutch company Agrico. Specialists will visually demonstrate the operation of integrated plant protection systems, innovative nutrition schemes, and methods for the biologization of production.
Special attention will be paid to economics and sales: direct B2B negotiations with potential major buyers of ware and seed potatoes from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will take place within the framework of the event.
International Status
A landmark event of the Field Day 2026 will be the participation of the International Potato Tour, highlighting the growing global interest in Kyrgyzstan’s potato farming. The presence of international experts and delegates opens up unique opportunities for exchanging best practices and bringing domestic products to new markets.
The event will become the main platform of the season for dialogue between producers, technology suppliers, investors, and government representatives.
