Brazil: For the second month in a row, potato prices are sharply rising
Water harvesting is expected to increase in the coming weeks
Between November 16 and 20, the prices of the special potato Agate per bag of 50 kg were R $ 174.07 (-3.36%) in Sao Paulo (SP), at R$ 160.87 (-8.66%) Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and R$169.63 (+1.44%) Horizon Belo (MG).

As far as this month has elapsed, prices for the producer of the special potato Washed Agate, has had an increase of 48% (R$ 151.09) relative to October – which has been due to different factors such as the advance of the zafra in September due to the high temperatures, in addition to the end of the winter zafra and the few areas collected for the water season.
Over the next few weeks, supply may increase as the water harvest intensifies, even with the fall of the crop in the south, due to lack of rain during the crop development period.
