Argentina (Balcarce): Tecnopapa — The Dynamic Exhibition That Will Bring Together the Entire Potato Value Chain
The city of Balcarce (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina) is preparing to host Tecnopapa, a large-scale dynamic field exhibition. The event is designed to bring together every participant across the value chain: growers, researchers, machinery suppliers, crop protection and seed companies, and processing industry representatives.
Balcarce is recognized as one of the primary scientific and production hubs for potato cultivation in Argentina and the wider Southern Cone. The exhibition grounds will serve as a central meeting point to address pressing technological challenges and adopt best practices in agricultural production.
Key Highlights and Exhibition Program
- Dynamic Field Demonstrations: The cornerstone of the event will be live field demonstrations of specialized machinery—ranging from pre-planting soil preparation and precision fertilization to modern potato harvesters in action.
- Innovations and Biotechnology: Leading breeding and seed companies will showcase high-performing potato varieties adapted to climate challenges and engineered for increased disease resistance.
- Sustainable Farming and Crop Protection: Attendees will have access to the latest biological solutions, drip irrigation systems, and digital precision agriculture tools designed to reduce input costs.
- Scientific and Business Panels: The program includes conferences and panel discussions featuring experts from the National Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA) and industry leaders, focusing on market trends, storage technology, and post-harvest processing.
The organizers emphasize that Tecnopapa aims to drive modernization across the regional potato sector by providing farmers with direct access to advanced expertise and innovative solutions to enhance farm profitability.
