US: Lamb Weston to Report First-Quarter Results on October 6 as Analysts Expect EPS to Fall to $0.59

Lamb Weston, a leading US supplier of frozen potato products, will publish its fiscal 2027 first-quarter results on 6 October 2026. The company said on 8 September that the news release will come out at about 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by a conference call at 9:00 a.m.

Analysts expect weaker earnings. According to Benzinga, which cites Benzinga Pro data, the consensus forecast is 59 cents per share, down from 74 cents a year earlier. Quarterly revenue is expected at $1.66 billion, the same level as a year ago. On 24 July the company reported fourth-quarter results that were better than expected.

What analysts said in July

After the July results several brokers raised their price targets. On 28 July TD Cowen moved its target from $40 to $52 with a Hold rating, Bernstein from $42 to $57 with a Market Perform rating, and Stephens from $46 to $55 with an Equal-Weight rating, Benzinga reports. None of them rated the stock a buy. Lamb Weston is based in Eagle, Idaho.

POTATOES NEWS described the company’s earlier results in the article Lamb Weston Shows Signs of Recovery After a Difficult Cycle.

Why it matters

The first quarter covers the start of the 2026 harvest in North America and Europe, where Lamb Weston buys raw potatoes for its fry plants. Both regions face a tight crop. In Idaho, growers planted 298,915 acres, and the state expects its smallest crop since 2011, as reported in USA: Idaho Plants 298,915 Acres of Potatoes as Frost, Heat and Drought Cut 2026 Yields. In Europe, prices rose on a short crop, as shown in our world potato price review for week 39.

A smaller crop usually means higher raw-material costs for processors. Growers and traders will listen to the call for any comment on potato supply, contract prices for the 2027 crop and demand from restaurants. The results are the first official figures from a major fry maker after this year’s harvest began.

What to watch on 6 October

Key points are sales volume and price per unit, gross margin, the company’s outlook for the full fiscal year, and any comment on the quality and size of this year’s potatoes. POTATOES NEWS will report the results after they are published.
