As of May 26, agricultural producers in Russia’s Tyumen Region have planted potatoes across 5.5 thousand hectares, while vegetable crops occupy 841 hectares. In total, spring grain and leguminous crops, industrial crops, annual grasses, potatoes, and vegetables now cover 522.9 thousand hectares. According to the regional Department of Agro-Industrial Complex, the sowing campaign is running on schedule, with a slight lead compared to last year’s pace.
In addition, local farmers continue to disinfect seed material — approximately 88% of seeds have been treated so far. Mineral fertilizers have already been applied across 425.4 thousand hectares. While the total sown area will remain at last year’s level, the crop structure is set to change: grain areas will be slightly reduced, while industrial crop areas will expand by 20 thousand hectares.
