The volume of sales of fruits and vegetables in Russia will exceed two trillion rubles

According to experts, the consumption of vegetables this year will reach 107 kilograms per capita. This is only two kilograms above the level of 2023.
Sales of fruits and vegetables in the country are steadily growing. Thus, the volume of retail trade in the first half of 2024 amounted to 964 billion rubles. But by the end of the year, this figure may exceed two trillion rubles.
Sales of vegetables and fruits to end consumers today account in monetary terms for 8.2 percent of the retail food trade turnover. Their shares are approximately equal, amounting to 47 and 53 percent, respectively.
