Compostable packaging
SILBO was the first and only company in the world to introduce flexiblefoil compostable packaging printed with water-based paints. Suchcompostable packaging for vegetables and fruit, after decomposition,turns into a valuable biomass. We still have a flexible, transparentpackaging, resistant to storage and transport conditions, but alsoecological. It has handles and a mesh that provides ventilation and goodproduct presentation. In fact, it has the same properties as commonlyused plastic packaging, except for one thing: it is not plastic.Manufacturers and retail chains in countries such as the USA, Ireland,Germany, France and Poland have already used such SILBO packaging.
Paper redefined
SILBO has also developed modern paper packaging. This well-known raw material has gained newproperties and wider use thanks to innovative technologies and refinements. These paper bags havebeen well received in many markets. Recipients began to call these packages “Mr Paper” and areoffered this name today. This packaging is also often sought as “zero plastic” solutions. It might seemlike an ordinary paper bag, but it has a strong, durable seal, has cut windows with a net (also linen,which is a completely new achievement in elastic packaging), colorful printing and you can pack notonly dry products, such as groats or rice , but also fresh vegetables and fruits. “Mr Paper” packagingis designed for simplified recycling and has already won recognition in France and the Netherlands.
Eco-design in practice
In line with the current trends, SILBO designs packaging thathelps distributors to adapt to the latest market and legalrequirements. Where plastic still has to be used, SILBO hasreduced the amount of plastic to a minimum. The amount ofraw material has been minimized and the film thickness andweight have been reduced. The packaging can be designedfrom recycled raw material and can be recycled again. Wherethere was multi-material packaging, SILBO helped tointroduce solutions from a single packaging material. In thisway, the company gives its customers a ready-made answerto their needs in the field of eco-design.
Is it easy to implement?
