The Siheung City Agricultural Technology Center in South Korea held a成果 sharing and technology transfer agreement ceremony on January 30 to showcase new processed agricultural products developed through collaboration between the city’s agricultural technology division and local farms. The project, which ran for approximately 10 months from March to December 2025, resulted in two innovative products. The first is “Potato Nurungji Snacks,” made from an optimized blend of Siheung’s eco-friendly potatoes, rice, and lotus root, maximizing crispy texture and nutty flavor. The second is “Water Dropwort Stick Jelly,” which extracts nutrients from locally grown water dropwort (minari) while adding fruit flavors to create a convenient,大众-friendly snack. Both products have been praised for maintaining the nutritional value of local specialties while reflecting modern tastes and trends, significantly enhancing their marketability.
Through the technology transfer agreement, the center will transfer core development technologies to the participating farms — “Good Neighbor” and “Blue Water Dropwort Farm.” The city plans to complete product branding, packaging development, and OEM selection by April, with full-scale production and online/offline marketing set to launch in June. Kim Ik-gyeom, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, emphasized that the center will continue serving as a reliable partner beyond product development, supporting brand cultivation and distribution to increase farm income and strengthen local agricultural competitiveness. The event was also attended by leaders of the Agricultural Products Processing Research Association and the Life Improvement Association.
