Russia: Potato Stocks in Farm Enterprises 27.2% Below Last Year at End of September

Potato stocks held by Russian agricultural enterprises at the end of September 2026 stood at 1.3 million tonnes, 27.2% below the level of a year earlier, according to Rosstat data reported by Interfax on 15 October 2026.
Vegetable stocks were down even more sharply — 2.2 times lower than last year, at 498,600 tonnes.
The figures point to a thinner carry-over buffer this season even as the new harvest comes in, against the backdrop of September’s 13.1% month-on-month retail price decline reported earlier by Rosstat.
