Russia: Irkutsk region reports higher yields as harvest passes halfway
Growers in the Angara area had harvested main crops from 230,000 hectares by 2 October, with yields above last year.
The harvesting campaign in Russia’s Irkutsk region reached the halfway mark by 2 October 2026, with main agricultural crops gathered from 230,000 hectares, regional officials reported. Higher yields compared with last year were noted across crops, including potatoes and vegetables.
The regional authorities attributed the improvement to favourable weather during the growing season and expanded use of certified seed.
