Rosselkhoznadzor Inspects 452 Hectares of Potato Fields in Ulyanovsk Region, Finds No Quarantine Pests

From August 1 to 19, 2026, inspectors from Rosselkhoznadzor surveyed 452 hectares of potato plantings in the Staromainsky and Ulyanovsky districts of the Ulyanovsk region. The monitoring covered fields of two agricultural enterprises and also included inspections of carrot and beet crops grown for commercial production. No quarantine insect pests or disease pathogens were detected in any of the sampled areas, confirming the favorable phytosanitary status of the region’s key vegetable crops.

The surveys are part of the broader 2026 monitoring plan for the Ulyanovsk region, which aims to cover over 582 hectares in total—approximately 78% of the target has already been completed. Inspections are carried out through visual field examinations, laboratory analysis of collected samples, and the use of pheromone traps to detect any hidden pest activity. The absence of harmful organisms reinforces the region’s capacity to maintain healthy production and supports the safety of its agricultural output for both domestic distribution and potential export.
