Potatoes and Grains Gain Strength on Bryansk Fields as Spring Sowing Nears Completion

On the farms of the Bryansk region, special attention is being paid to potatoes this year. In the agricultural enterprise of individual entrepreneur M.M. Dovgalyov, near the village of Vystrikovo, planting of the “Memphis” and “Sanyava” varieties is in full swing. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the crews, more than 15 hectares are planted daily. In total, this farm has allocated 280 hectares for potatoes, while the overall area under this crop across the district reaches an impressive 800 hectares. The planting of “the second bread” is nearing completion — in the coming days, farmers from Starodub, along with their colleagues from other farms in the region, plan to fully finish the spring sowing campaign.

In addition to potatoes, this agricultural enterprise actively cultivates other crops, including soybeans, corn, spring wheat, winter wheat, and winter rapeseed. The total area of cultivated land on the farm reaches approximately 5,000 hectares, demonstrating the large scale of agricultural production in the Starodub Municipal District. Bryansk farmers are showing high levels of organization and work pace, raising expectations for a solid harvest of grains and potatoes in the upcoming season.
