In the Klimovsky District of the Bryansk Region, potato planting began on April 10. This season, agricultural enterprises plan to plant tubers on 2,679 hectares, which is 333 hectares less than in 2025, according to Bryanskaya Uchitelskaya Gazeta. Farms renew their seed stock annually, with the Klimovsk Potato Company focusing on varieties ideally suited for producing french fries and chips. At the same time, farmers have not forgotten about table potatoes intended for regular consumers.
As of April 22, potatoes have already been planted on 423 hectares, representing 16% of the total plan. The leaders in planting pace are the Klimovsk Potato Company, as well as the peasant farms of P.V. Polubotko and L.M. Shishova, where fields are currently in an active phase of work.
