South Korean food giant Nongshim has announced the launch of an innovative new snack, “Potato Chips Yeop-tteok Rosé Flavor,” developed in partnership with the renowned restaurant “Dongdaemun Yeopgi Tteokbokki.” This new product marries the signature Rosé sauce of Yeopgi’s famous tteokbokki—a beloved Korean street food of spicy rice cakes—with Nongshim’s iconic and long-selling Potato Chips. The chips are crafted from 100% fresh potatoes, thinly sliced to preserve their distinctive crispy texture, and coated with a savory, spicy yet smooth Rosé seasoning. The result is a unique fusion of two favorite snacks, offering a taste experience that appeals to consumers of all ages, from tteokbokki enthusiasts to chip lovers.
A Nongshim representative emphasized that this collaboration is part of a broader strategy to incorporate popular K-food dishes and famous restaurant menus into the company’s snack portfolio. By translating the well-known flavors of tteokbokki into the familiar chip format, Nongshim aims to deliver a novel sensory experience while strengthening the brand value of its “Potato Chips” line. The move reflects a growing global appetite for Korean cuisine and demonstrates how traditional flavors can be reinvented in convenient, modern formats, further solidifying Nongshim’s position as an innovator in the competitive snack market.
