The Mezheninovsky agricultural production cooperative, a subsidiary of the Mezheninovskaya Poultry Farm, has announced plans to begin potato cultivation and deep processing. According to the regional Department of Rural Development, the company is thoroughly studying advanced agrotechnologies, machinery, and breeding achievements in preparation for the project. To gain hands-on experience and seek technological solutions, the cooperative’s chief agronomist, Ivan Pul, visited the Ural Federal District as part of a Tomsk delegation. In the current season, the cooperative plans to start potato production by planting an initial trial area of 20 hectares.
The company’s scientific and technical base will allow the project to be developed in the shortest possible time, according to Vladimir Ermolenko, Deputy Director for Production at the Mezheninovskaya Poultry Farm. The plans include not only growing potatoes but also their deep processing, which will require modern equipment for storage, washing, cleaning, and packaging. Developing this new direction will enable the company to expand its product range.
