The Belarusian authorities once again declared the importance of discipline and compliance with technologies in agriculture in order to minimize losses in the field.
This year it is planned to harvest 10 million tons of grain in the republic, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at the Palace of Independence during a conference call dedicated to the harvesting process.
According to him, this year agriculture has received all the necessary state support in such matters as the provision of machinery, fuel and finance.
“Therefore, everyone, first of all, from the manager to the machine operator, is required to give maximum return. Otherwise, there will be losses. This is unacceptable.
At the same time, he once again recalled his main requirement for farmers to maintain not only the pace, but also the quality during the harvesting campaign. Therefore, discipline and responsibility must be maintained at a high level.
“According to experts, it is predicted that the gross grain harvest, including rapeseed, corn, and rapeseed, will amount to about 10 million tons,” the Belarusian leader said.
Winter Is Coming
Alexander Lukashenko believes that the sanctions imposed against fertilizers, energy carriers, as well as the disruption of supply chains, have put some states on the brink of survival.
“Winter is coming. And for those who cannot feed themselves, it will be a cold and hungry winter,” he shared his vision of the situation with the participants of the selector.
In his opinion, the successful implementation of the harvesting campaign is a strategic issue for the republic. Because people need to be provided with food, and stabilization funds should be increased, the head of state is sure.
“Many say that we are on the eve of a famine. We cannot dismiss this and ask questions: what if? Therefore, we need to get together. In a word, the situation is very serious,” the Belarusian leader warned.
