Komi Farm Stores Over 1,550 Tonnes of Marketable Potatoes as Harvest Continues Around the Clock

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Trade of the Komi Republic, LLC “Prigorodny” has placed more than 1,550 tonnes of marketable potatoes into winter storage. The harvest is continuing in a two-shift, round-the-clock regime. By the end of September, potatoes had been harvested from approximately 50 hectares out of a planned 120. The average yield stands at about 310 centners per hectare, or 31 tonnes. The harvested produce is sorted and sent to a specialised storage facility with a capacity of 3,200 tonnes.

Two single-row potato harvesters are operating at the farm, and a third machine provided by LLC “Palevitsy” has been brought into the fields to speed up the work. LLC “Luzales” is handling the transportation of the crop. The main variety grown at the farm is “Rosara,” and the harvested potatoes are stored in bulk. The storage facility is equipped with an active underground ventilation system and automated climate control.
