Kazakhstan: New 26,000-Tonne Potato Storage Complex Opens in Almaty Region to Supply PepsiCo Plant
A 17,450 m² storage complex with 16 sections in Almaty region's Iliysky district will supply PepsiCo's new Alatau plant and build a regional food reserve.
One of Kazakhstan’s largest potato storage complexes has opened in the Iliysky district of Almaty region, with 26,000 tonnes of total capacity across 16 sections equipped with 1,700 European-standard crates each, local outlet Ogni Alatau reported on 19 October 2026.
The 17,450-square-metre facility can keep potatoes for 10 to 12 months and was built by TOO «Dobry Product», part of the Tekhnovid Global group, with a 2.9-billion-tenge guarantee from the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. It is designed to supply raw potatoes to PepsiCo’s plant in the city of Alatau and to help build a regional strategic reserve of socially important food products.
