The heart of the event was the demonstration plots, established with seed samples sent from Haryana in October 2024. These plots, meticulously cultivated, revealed the adaptability and performance of various potato varieties under Gujarat’s specific climate and soil. The results were nothing short of remarkable.

Among the star performers was Kufri Mohan, a variety that showcased exceptional vigor and yield, quickly becoming a favorite among the attending farmers. Close on its heels were Kufri Thar 2 and Kufri Karan, further solidifying the potential of Haryana’s seed potatoes in Gujarat. The diverse array of varieties showcased, including K. Uday, K. Pukhraj, K. Frysona, K. Himalini, K. Chipsona 1, LR, and Santana, provided a comprehensive look at the quality and diversity of Haryana’s seed production.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed experts from the International Potato Center (CIP), including Dr. Kadian, Ms. Deepa, and Dr. Pooja, lending their global expertise to the local context. Dr. D. G. Patel, Station Incharge at the Potato Research Station in Deesa, expertly guided the proceedings, while representatives from industry giants like Hyfun, Chill Fill, and Iscon Balaji contributed valuable insights into market dynamics and processing potential.
