According to preliminary forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, over 7 million tons of potatoes and about 7.4 million tons of vegetables will be harvested in the organized sector by the end of the current season. These figures will be significantly lower than last year’s.
There is still no question of a serious shortage of vegetables in the country’s food market. But the authorities are ready to take measures to prevent it. According to the ministry, timely deliveries from friendly countries will be organized to provide the population with agricultural products.
