Over the past week, in the seaport of Novorossiysk, during the implementation of quarantine phytosanitary control by specialists of the Southern Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, in 6 batches of fresh fruits and vegetables (oranges, potatoes) arrived from Egypt, quarantine objects for the Russian Federation were identified in a living state:
- Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata (Wied.));
- potato moth (Phthorimaea operculella Zell.);
These pest objects are confirmed by the conclusions on the quarantine phytosanitary status of regulated products of the Southern branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “VNIIKR”.
In order to prevent the spread of quarantine organisms on the territory of the Russian Federation, the owners of the cargoes were disinfected 137.5 tons of potatoes (1 batch), 120.76 tons of oranges (5 batches).
