The agricultural enterprise LLC “Sergievskoye” has received permission to construct a production facility for primary and deep potato processing in the Kolomna urban district, Moscow Region, according to the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The company, which has specialized in growing open-field vegetables, wheat, and seedlings since 2015 and supplies produce to major retail chains, will use the new complex as the next stage of its development. The processing facility will have a capacity of up to 4 tons of potatoes per hour, allowing the enterprise to transition from a raw-material business model to producing higher value-added products. The product line will include peeled and cut potatoes, semi-finished goods, and ready-to-use solutions for both retail and the food service sector.
Total investment in the project amounts to 239 million rubles, which will be used to equip the workshop with modern technological equipment and automated production lines. Completion is planned by the end of 2026. The press service emphasized that at the end of 2025, the Moscow Region increased its potato production, with a gross harvest of 375,800 tons—16,200 tons more than in 2024. This growth in yield provides a solid foundation for developing local processing capacities, which will help achieve import substitution of foreign products and increase the region’s self-sufficiency in processed potato goods.
