Fresh New-Crop Potatoes Arrive in Kostanay Region: Price Set at Up to 215 Tenge per Kilogram

The first batch of fresh new-crop potatoes has arrived in the Kostanay Region, imported from the Turkistan Region, as reported by a Kazinform agency correspondent. Local residents had previously complained about the shortage of certain socially important goods, but the supply of potatoes was secured in advance through contracts with the stabilization fund of SPK “Tobol.” According to Aybek Temirbekov, head of the department for working with the stabilization fund, sales of early fresh vegetables began after the autumn harvest from local suppliers was sold out; the potatoes reached the region on June 18.

Residents of the Kostanay Region can purchase the new-crop potatoes at major retail chains, including Solnechny, Astykzhan, Aziya, Zetro, and City, as well as at other retail outlets across the region. The retail price for consumers will not exceed 215 tenge per kilogram. Earlier, early cabbage from the Turkistan Region was also supplied via the stabilization fund and sold at 92 tenge per kilogram, illustrating an ongoing effort to ensure a steady supply of affordable vegetables to the population.
