A new self-service vending machine offering freshly fried potatoes has been unveiled in Wales. Captain Chip, the company behind the innovation, has installed its first unit at the Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham. Customers can purchase a portion of fresh, hot french fries — from classic to American-style — along with seasonings, for £2.99 (approximately 302 rubles). The machine delivers each order in just 160 seconds, and it operates fully autonomously, requiring no permanent staff on site.
Captain Chip reports that the public reaction to the machine has been “brilliant” so far. The Wrexham installation marks one of the first public locations for this concept, placing the North Wales town at the forefront of a growing trend in automated food service that combines convenience with quality. The company has announced plans to launch similar vending machines in London soon, with additional locations expected to follow.
