Europatat has officially announced the accession of Elorn Plants, one of the leading French seed potato producers from the Finisterre region of Brittany.
Brittany is known worldwide for the high quality of its seed potatoes and their fast delivery to international markets. The accession of Elorn Plants to Europatat will strengthen the role of French breeders and producers on the European and world markets. History and mission of Elorn Plants
Elorn Plants was founded in 1996 on the initiative of five family farms that had been producing seed potatoes for several generations.
The main goals of the company:
- Promotion of Breton seed potatoes on world markets
- Development and distribution of exclusive varieties
- Commercial independence in the field of selection and sales
Modern areas of work
Today, Elorn Plants actively cooperates with 40 seed potato producers, controlling 950 hectares of cultivated areas.
– Annual sales volume – 25,000 tons of seed potatoes
– Export geography – more than 30 countries, including Africa, the Middle East and Europe
The company also carries out active breeding work together with Bretagne Plants Innovation, developing new varieties in response to agronomic challenges and consumer trends.
Hybrid testing in international markets
Each year, Elorn Plants tests new potato varieties in target countries to ensure that their characteristics correspond to local agricultural technologies and consumer preferences.
