Specialists of the Northwestern Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor have inspected a batch of seed potatoes grown in the Novgorod Region and prepared for spring sowing. A total of 40 tonnes of the “Innovator” variety were visually examined, and samples were taken for laboratory testing at the Novgorod Department of the Northwestern Branch of the FGBI “ARRIAH” to check for quarantine harmful organisms. Based on the inspection results, the potatoes were found to comply with all phytosanitary requirements.
A quarantine certificate was issued for the batch, and the product was transported by road to its destination — the Belgorod Region. This is the first batch of seed potatoes shipped from the Novgorod Region in 2026. For comparison, in 2025, the region sent 60 tonnes of seed potatoes to the Leningrad Region. Thus, the Novgorod Region continues to strengthen its role as a reliable supplier of high-quality seed material to other Russian regions.
