Spring sowing of early cereal crops is underway in several districts of the Bryansk region, including Gordeyevsky, Krasnogorsky, Novozybkovsky, and Starodubsky. In the last three of these districts, farmers have already started planting potatoes. At the same time, agricultural enterprises are carrying out fertilization of grain crops, winter rapeseed, and perennial grasses. The total winter crop area for the 2026 harvest is 209 thousand hectares, of which winter grains account for 119 thousand hectares and winter rapeseed for 90 thousand hectares — an increase of nearly 32 thousand hectares compared to last year.
The total sown area for all agricultural crops in the region will reach approximately 804 thousand hectares. Spring sowing on farms of all categories is planned for 366 thousand hectares, including 173.4 thousand hectares for spring grains and legumes, 85 thousand hectares for industrial crops (or 173.1 thousand hectares when winter rapeseed is included), 49.9 thousand hectares for potatoes, 4.3 thousand hectares for vegetables, and 53.4 thousand hectares for forage crops. Soil preparation for spring sowing is also underway across all districts.
