Premium British snack producer Burts is set to introduce its new Herb Roasted Chicken hand-cooked chips in March 2025. Available in 40g and 150g packs, these chips will be sold across selected out-of-home (OOH) channels, including regional Co-op stores.

Meeting Consumer Demand for Premium Snacks

The Herb Roasted Chicken flavor is crafted to meet the growing consumer demand for high-quality, savory hand-cooked snacks. Seasoned with a balanced blend of sage, parsley, rosemary, and thyme, the chips feature real chicken sourced from Creedy Carver, Burts’ trusted Devon-based partner. This aligns with the trend of consumers seeking authentic and premium snack experiences.

Sas Horscroft, Head of Marketing at Burts Snacks, commented: “Launching Herb Roasted Chicken is an exciting step for Burts Chips as we continue to develop new flavors that appeal to a range of consumers. With chicken consistently being the top savory meat profile for spring-summer launches in the UK over the past three years, we anticipate strong demand for this new flavor. The combination of herbs and roasted chicken will not only meet the expectations of existing customers but also attract new ones, driving sales and expanding our reach.”

Market Growth and Consumer Preferences

The hand-cooked chips market in the UK is experiencing robust growth, with a market size of £3.2 billion in 2025.

This growth is driven by consumers’ increasing preference for premium and authentic snacks. Research indicates that over 75% of consumers would consider purchasing Herb Roasted Chicken flavored chips, reflecting strong market potential.

Commitment to Quality and Local Sourcing

In line with Burts’ dedication to excellence, the Herb Roasted Chicken chips are gluten-free and contain no added MSG, artificial coloring, or flavorings. The company continues to support local agriculture by sourcing potatoes from reputable British farmers, ensuring the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Burts’ introduction of the Herb Roasted Chicken hand-cooked chips exemplifies the company’s response to evolving consumer tastes and the growing demand for premium snack options. By combining authentic flavors with quality ingredients and local sourcing, Burts is poised to strengthen its position in the competitive UK snack market.
