The authorities introduced a regional emergency regime after heavy rains. In nine municipalities of the region, the average monthly rainfall was exceeded two to three times. This led to waterlogging of the soil and damage to crops.
According to preliminary data, 35.9 thousand hectares of crops were affected in the region. The emergency zone extends to the territories of Agapovsky, Argayashsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Nagaybaksky, Nyazepetrovsky, Sosnovsky, Chebarkulsky, Chesmensky districts and Miass city district.
In order to assess the damage suffered by Chelyabinsk farmers, it is planned to create special commissions. Repeated field surveys will also be conducted. Depending on their condition, the affected crops may be transferred to the category of forage crops.
