The production of agricultural products in Chuvashia for the first time exceeded 100 billion rubles.
In 2022, it amounted to 107.7 billion rubles. – 17.6% more than in 2021.

According to a preliminary estimate of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Chuvash Republic, in 2022, the production of agricultural products in the region in value terms for the first time exceeded 100 billion rubles, amounting to 107.7 billion rubles. This is 17.6% more than in 2021. The share of agricultural production in this volume was 60%, food and beverages – 40%.

The level of self-sufficiency of the region in potatoes, according to preliminary estimates, in 2022 amounted to 188.7% (the threshold value reflected in the doctrine of food security in Russia is 95%), milk and dairy products – 148.4% (90%), vegetables – 118, 6% (90%), meat and meat products – 100.1% (85%).

According to the calculations of the regional agrarian department, last year in the republic the volume of potato production per 100 hectares of agricultural land amounted to 34.0 centners (according to this indicator, Chuvashia ranked first among the subjects of the Volga Federal District), vegetables – 15.1 centners (first place), milk – 47.5 centners (second place), grain – 59.2 centners (second place), livestock and poultry meat – 12.0 centners (fourth place).

Maintaining high performance in the agro-industrial complex and the development of the industry in the region, among other things, is facilitated by timely state support. In 2022, it amounted to more than 6 billion rubles, having increased by 26.3% compared to 2021. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia, the state support of farmers in the region for 1 ha of arable land last year amounted to 4.5 thousand rubles. – this is the second indicator in the Volga Federal District, it is higher only in the Republic of Tatarstan (7.2 thousand rubles/ha).

72 types of subsidies are provided to support agricultural production in Chuvashia, of which 22 are for crop production and 23 for animal husbandry. mln rub. The technical modernization of the industry continues, in which up to 40% of the cost of purchased agricultural equipment is reimbursed. Last year, 778.3 million rubles were allocated for these purposes, which made it possible to improve the age composition of equipment and increase the energy supply indicator to 128 hp. With. per 100 hectares of cultivated area.

Also in Chuvashia, the development of small forms of management is supported – up to 23% of the total amount of funding for the agro-industrial complex is directed for these purposes; state support for peasant (farm) households in the region in 2022 amounted to 895.6 million rubles. In addition, since 2022, state support for the self-employed in the countryside has begun. For a region in which the share of peasant farms and households in agricultural production is more than 50% (according to Rosstat for 2021, the indicator in the region was 53.5%, in the Volga Federal District – 46.0%, in the country – 40, 8%), stimulating small businesses is especially important.

The main tasks for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Chuvash Republic for the near future are the following:

continued modernization of the agricultural machinery fleet;
improving the efficiency of agricultural land use;
increasing the productivity of farm animals and the share of breeding stock;
introduction of information systems;
development of hop-growing;
building up capacities for processing agricultural products;
village development.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov, speaking with a report on the implementation of the Russian Village project, noted that the industry completed the year 2022 with dignity.
