In the Gomel region, as well as throughout the republic, the process of harvesting vegetables for the winter is actively gaining momentum. Today, any experienced owner knows that you can make good money on wild plants, vegetables, fruits and berries. From June to October, the producers of the Gomel branch of the Gomel Regional Consumer Society accept potatoes, apples, mushrooms and berries from the population. The correspondent of “Mayak” found out at what prices vegetables, fruits and wild plants can be sold, and how to do it.

Harvest time is a good opportunity to replenish the family budget by handing over wild plants and surplus products from your own garden to the purveyors of the Gomel branch of the Gomel Regional Consumer Society. In July, they sell mainly strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, black and red currants. According to Svetlana Slynko, head of the production, procurement and public catering department of the Gomel branch of the regional PO, 4 tons of strawberries, 2.5 tons of blueberries, 1 ton of raspberries, 200 kg of red currant and 300 kg of black currant have already been purchased:

  • Today, the leaders in the delivery of berries are residents of the agricultural towns of Pokolyubichi and Eremino, the villages of Lopatino and Kostyukovka. The prices at which products are purchased are set by the consumer society by monitoring the sales market. They change depending on demand and quantity of offers. So, on July 19, strawberries were taken at 7 rubles per kg, blueberries – at 4.2, raspberries – at 3-4, red currants – at 2, black currants at 3, cherries at 2 rubles per kg, gooseberries at 3. After the purchase, fresh berries are unloaded to the warehouse and transported to retail outlets according to requests. So far, the berry has not been handed over for industrial processing.

In addition, since May, the producers of the Gomel branch of the Gomel Regional Consumer Society have been accepting potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots, beets and mushrooms from the population. Anyone can hand over the products to the store of the regional PO branch or to procurement points, which are located on the territory of the district in the agro-towns of Uritskoye, Krasnoye and Bobovichi, the village of Lopatino. Also, if necessary, a mobile station can go home to those who wish. But provided that a person has a large volume of products sold. The calculation is made on the spot from trade proceeds or funds that the state allocates under a soft loan for the purchase of wild products and agricultural crops in 2022. To date, 450 thousand rubles have already been disbursed from the loan money, and the laying of the stabilization fund is still ahead.

“For 6 months, we have already prepared 60 tons of potatoes, 120 tons of vegetable products. Of these, 15 are cucumbers, 7 are tomatoes, 50 are cabbage, 20 are onions, 17 are carrots, 12 are beets,” concluded Svetlana Slynko.
