Preparation for potato planting at the company began long before spring arrived. It included several important stages: selection and preparation of seed material, soil treatment, fertilizer application, and determining optimal planting dates. This week, Klimovskaya Potato Company LLC started planting potatoes of the ‘Newton’ variety, which are intended for chip production. A large amount of machinery gathered in the field, demonstrating the scale and technological sophistication of modern potato farming.
The work process was overseen by Larisa Balabaeva, manager of the Sytobudskoye division, chief agronomist Vladimir Kletskov, and agronomist Oleg Domotsky. They measured planting depth and plant density per hectare. On the first day, two modern eight-row potato planters went into the field, operated by experienced machinery drivers Alexey Chechukov, Alexey Yakushev, Andrey Petrochenko, and Alexey Titorenko.
