HZPC North West Africa Reports Remarkable Success with Panamera Variety
In a recent update from HZPC North West Africa, the Panamera potato variety has demonstrated exceptional adaptation to the pedo-climatic conditions of Cameroon.
The production cycle, completed in under 110 days, occurs on the high plateaus of the country’s Northwest region. Remarkably, yields reach approximately 55 tons per hectare, featuring substantial tubers, solidifying Panamera as the most productive potato variety in Cameroon.
Panamera boasts the ability to maintain tubers with 20% dry matter content, even in the tropical climate of these latitudes.
Notably, the produced potatoes are distributed in the Cameroonian market and exported to neighboring countries such as Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, packaged in sacks weighing around 100 kilograms.
This success underscores HZPC’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in potato cultivation, paving the way for enhanced agricultural practices and food security in the region.
