In the village of Leka, a local agricultural enterprise has received a powerful new tractor, a modern potato harvester, and a full line of soil cultivation equipment. The farm, known for growing elite seed potatoes, is dramatically expanding its capacities. The new machinery will accelerate field work many times over, which is critically important for meeting tight planting season deadlines. And that is not the only innovation this season — the enterprise has also expanded its assortment by planting several promising new potato varieties on its fields.
According to Vladimir Aksenov, agronomist at Agrofarm, the technical upgrade is primarily a matter of stability. “Working with new equipment will be much more efficient,” Aksenov commented. “With a volume of about 5,500 tons of potatoes per season, every hour counts for us.” The equipment upgrade will not only ease the workload for employees but also strengthen the district’s position in producing high-quality seed material that is in demand across the entire country.
