Of course, we can compliment each other every day. But on international compliment day we do our best! We present a nice initiative to showcase our employees.
From Monday 1 March there will be posters on the various sites of Agristo. These posters encourage our employees to send a compliment to a colleague via a QR code. We deliver the message to the person in question and show it on the general screens of the site. Compliments can be sent throughout the week, so the weekend team can also enjoy an encouraging word here and there. We also don’t forget the home working Potatoholics, they receive a handwritten card at home with a personal compliment from their supervisor.
Compliment Day 1
Wellbeing policy
This is just one of the many fun actions we have in store for our employees. The creative brain behind all these ideas is Areta Lombary, Wellbeing Manager of Agristo, among others. She likes to tell us more about the actions we take to keep the mental well-being of the potato holics sharp:
“The atmosphere at Agristo has always been good. We used to organise quiz competitions or set up running groups, but since October 2019 we have started a wellbeing process to work out all the fun initiatives even better. Every year we choose a theme. In 2019 it was ‘sport and movement ‘and in 2020 it was’stress and resilience’. Select a theme for this year is, unfortunately, a bit more difficult. We wanted to make it a year of celebration to celebrate the existence of the different sites x-number of years, but because of the pandemic it is not possible to realize all of our ideas.”
Happy Birthday balloon
At least we don’t let Agristo get away with it. We now use the budget we normally use to sponsor the activities to pamper the employees with nice gifts every two weeks.
“We still want to do something to thank our employees for their efforts, and we find that they appreciate this,” says Areta. “We already sent out a Christmas box with a fleece blanket and popcorn, buff scarves for sports and frog sweets as a ‘boost’ on Blue Monday. These are not easy times, but these small attentions, often with a wink, do help to give our employees a boost. On Valentine’s day everyone was sent croquettes in The Shape Of Hearts, which I liked extra because this was really made by our colleagues. I can’t tell you my favorite attention yet, it’s still on the schedule!”
