The management of Avtotor decided to support its employees in a non-standard way by allocating 10 acres of land free of charge for growing crops. “In connection with the difficult economic situation in which the enterprise finds itself, Avtotor is implementing measures for additional social support for the plant’s staff,” the press service of the enterprise said.
The automobile plant allocated two land massifs with a total area of 300 hectares, which are in its ownership, for vegetable gardens – in the area of the villages of Kholmogorovka and Lyublino. The plots were distributed by lottery: in this way, Avtotor employees have already received 168 allotments. The remaining plots will be distributed in the second half of May.
Potatoes instead of cars: Avtotor employees sent to vegetable gardens
It is reported that all areas are fully prepared for seasonal sowing – the land is plowed and harrowed. To ensure the future harvest in the gardens of factory workers, Avtotor organized the sale of seed potatoes of domestic production.
Earlier, we reported that the Kaliningrad Automobile Plant would not work from May 1 to May 22: during this period, the company’s employees will be sent on corporate leave.
