The American company Champion Foods is interested in importing vegetable products from Kazakhstan, as well as building an enterprise for processing agricultural products on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Plans for cooperation were discussed by representatives of the company at meetings with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeev and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov.
“The company is ready to organize the export of frozen potatoes and other vegetable products from Kazakhstan, and is also interested in investing in projects for the construction of plants for the deep processing of agricultural products in Kazakhstan. The total investment is estimated at $100 million,” the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Champion Foods is the largest food trader in the US and is also a food manufacturing company. For over 25 years, the company has been the number one supplier to foodservice, retail, industrial, bakery, offshore catering, ship chandlers and cruise lines. The company provides sugar, frozen vegetables, rice, beans, corn, bread sticks, pizza and other products.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the operator of state support for exporters – QazTrade JSC signed a memorandum of cooperation with Champion Foods. The parties plan to support joint initiatives to promote Kazakh food products in foreign markets and implement joint export-oriented investment projects.
“Kazakhstan is the region’s leader in attracting investments. At the same time, the emphasis is on the creation of high-tech export-oriented industries. We welcome the intentions of Champion Foods to develop cooperation not only in trade, but also in the production sector,” Bakhyt Sultanov said at a meeting with representatives of the company.
He noted that over the past 15 years, about $46 billion has been invested in the economy of Kazakhstan from the United States. More than 500 enterprises with the participation of American capital operate in various sectors of the economy.
