Representatives of the department found brown rot of potatoes in the region – a dangerous bacterial disease that can lead to crop death and soil contamination. It affects the culture during the flowering period and the formation of tubers, manifesting itself in the form of wilting and darkening of stems, the appearance of mucus on the cut of the stem.
The quarantine zone has been established in the Kharabala district of the region, on a plot of 299.4 hectares. To prevent the spread of brown rot, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists recommend quarantine measures aimed at localization and elimination of the outbreak. They should be carried out at the expense of the owners of quarantined facilities.
