On the territory of an agricultural enterprise in the Stavropol Territory, software was tested, which will form the basis of the project to create a Russian agricultural drone. The project is being implemented by Aeromax in close cooperation with the Steppe Agroholding, the company’s press service reported.
The possibilities of the new digital solution and the potential of its application for agriculture were positively assessed by the specialists of Agroholding STEP. Test work took place on farmland with an area of several hectares.
During the tests, the accuracy of application and the uniformity of spraying of plant protection products (CPP) were evaluated.

Based on the results of tests on the fields of the Agroholding, the software made it possible to plan and carry out an autonomous flight of the agricultural drone, the device successfully followed the given route, maintained the required height, corrected the trajectory taking into account obstacles and carried out the targeted application of biological plant protection products.
The development of an agrodrone control system is the most important stage on which the efficiency of the final product depends. The next step after testing the software will be the completion of work on the creation of an agrodrone entirely on the Russian platform.
Aeromax is in the active phase of developing a domestic agricultural drone. Today we tested the software, the requirements for which were formed in close cooperation with the Steppe Agroholding. This interaction helps to create a product that fully meets the needs of agricultural producers. Now specialists are manufacturing hull elements, working on the power plant and on-board radio-electronic equipment. We plan to present the finished product in a few months.”
Alisa Sazanova – Director of the Research and Development Center of Aeromax
Quadcopters are effective when used by farmers in the crop industry. With their help, they treat the fields with plant protection products, monitor the condition of crops, control technological processes, and conduct aerial photography of the fields. All this optimizes agrotechnological processes and reduces costs.
Steppe AgroHolding is actively introducing new technologies and has been implementing an import substitution program for several years. Joint developments with partners set trends in the agro-industrial complex market. All successful projects enter industrial production and become available to a wide range of agricultural producers. Thus, our investments provide an additional incentive for the development of the digitalization of agriculture and the active transition to Russian means of production. We are convinced that the project to create a new agricultural drone will be in high demand on the market and extremely relevant.”
Sergey Kosogor – Director of the R&D center of the Agroholding “STEP”
The project to create a Russian agricultural drone is not the first joint project of the companies. In the summer of last year, the droneport developed by Aeromax by order of the Agroholding Steppe was successfully tested. The device is a base station for automatic charging of copters and remote transmission of flight tasks to them. The large-scale implementation of the development will automate and centralize the control of unmanned aerial vehicles, eliminating the departure of pilots to the site.
