In the first eight months of 2024, the region increased agricultural exports by 35 percent. The total foreign trade turnover increased by 18 percent over the same period. As a result, its volume amounted to 800 million US dollars.
Smolensk agricultural enterprises supply seeds, fruit and cereal crops, and other products abroad. China, India, Egypt and the CIS countries are among the main importers.
The Republic of Belarus has been the leading partner of the region in the field of trade for many years. From there, meat, milk, fresh vegetables, fruits and potatoes are supplied to the region.
