In a recent press release, PACE Mechanical Handling introduced the Stella Evolution system, a cutting-edge packing line tailored for on-farm potato packing. Priced at GBP89,500, the system features an Electra weigher capable of handling ten tonnes per hour, an In-bag Weigher for 10 to 25kg potato sacks, an auto sack placer and presenter, and a comprehensive bag control system feeding a heavy-duty SMITSEN DS9C sewing head.
Notably, the Stella Evolution’s single bag clamp stands out, automatically adjusting to the size of the bag without the need for a second clamp. This innovation, born out of the rising inquiries from smaller growers and on-farm packers grappling with labor challenges, ensures efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
According to Nick Cesare, PACE’s managing director, the scalability of the Stella Evolution system allows for customization based on each grower’s unique needs. The system’s adaptability, reflected in its name, is likened to the process of a star changing over time.
O Palmer Ltd, a supplier of Babylon French fries potatoes, attests to the system’s excellence. Having used the new line since August, they praise its speed, reliability, and efficiency, noting its capability of running at 15 tonnes per hour. The company emphasizes the tangible difference the Stella Evolution makes, particularly for smaller teams.
In addition to its performance, the Stella Evolution system offers a five-year warranty on parts and free online service management throughout its ownership. This commitment to durability and support underscores PACE’s dedication to providing a reliable and efficient solution for the evolving needs of on-farm potato packing.
