Earlier this month, Potatoes USA’s executive committee embarked on a significant visit to the Red River Valley region, aiming to engage with local farmers, processors, and researchers. - Research at North Dakota State University: The committee visited North Dakota State University to learn about groundbreaking potato breeding research. These efforts are crucial for developing new, resilient potato varieties that can thrive under the specific climatic and soil conditions of the Red River Valley.
- Farm Tours: Multiple farm tours were conducted, including visits to Hoverson Farms, Hall’s, and Black Gold Farms in North Dakota, as well as Dagen Heritage Farms, R.D. Offutt Farms, and Ewing Farms in Minnesota. These tours showcased the advanced farming techniques and technologies being implemented to enhance productivity and sustainability in potato farming.
