In spring 2025, Seville, Spain, becomes the epicenter of potato innovation with the SESUR potato variety trials. Known for its optimal growing conditions, southern Spain provides the perfect stage for assessing top-tier genetics in real-world production settings.

A Historic Return to Variety Trials

This year’s event includes not only the annual screening trials for experimental clones but also a long-awaited variety trial, returning after a three-year hiatus. The trials will feature:

  • 200 varieties and experimental clones,
  • 20 breeders,
  • Representation from 6 European countries.

The trials are set to evaluate and present the finest potato genetics tailored to southern Spain’s unique agricultural conditions.
